Upapa, Upapapa. I just think he's really cute! I'm not sure what breed he's supposed to look like, I'm imagining he's a Persian/British Shorthair mix or something similar (with pink star markings no less). Upapa is from a different planet than Nikuman or Sayoko, but maybe the planet he comes from actually orbits theirs? I'd imagine it's close by so they could travel between the former and the latter. I feel like once they got stranded in Tokyo, Upapa could feel the energy of cats on Earth, leaving him to relax a bit and become a bit lazy. Because he's otherworldly, he's able to eat human food, but lost the ability to keep his weight stagnant, making him chubby.

Upapa may seem like an ordinary, chubby cat, but don't let that fool you! Upapa is actually quite intelligent and has the ability to talk, something his alien species has over normal cats. He was adopted by Nikuman and Sayoko after landing on their planet from his, but soon became annoyed after seeing how "incompetent" the siblings were, especially when they revealed their sudden vacation. Appointing himself captain of their spaceship, Upapa took the blame reluctantly once they crashed in Shibuya, leading him to become the siblings' guardian despite being a cat. Most of the time, he lazes around with Nikuman and helps Sayoko with homework, but demands treats afterwords. Upapa is a bit upset that on Earth he's gotten quite chubby, but he really can't help but try human food, especially bonito rice or Enoshima-don (his favorites!). His star collar also functions as a way to communicate with his, Sayoko's and Nikuman's home planet(s).
