Don is... well, a demon XD I'm a sucker for demon/angel duos, so after drawing Ciel I really, really, wanted to give her a big brother. Maybe it's because I have older brothers, but I really like the dynamic of siblings! I feel like I make them a lot though ^^; Don was originally an archangel in the Heavens, but after being wrongly accused of an unforgivable crime, he was banished to the mortal realm and became a fallen angel/demon- but accidentally took Ciel with him. He thinks he's scary so he stays away from humans, but Ciel, being the ray of light she is, takes him out anyways on outings (to which humans think he looks cool if intimidating).

Don was once a well-respected and admired archangel who governed the gates of the Heavens to the Underworld. However on one fateful day, a demon warlord broke free from the Underworld and thus commited genocide on the innocent spirits inhabiting the Heavens. Having been unconcious due to the warlord beating him nearly to death Don couldn't do anything to stop the havoc, and was subsequentially persecuted and blamed for the heinous crime. When the final punishment of banishment was read out, Don panicked and ran away, wishing to be free of the nightmare. As he fled he eventually made it to the Garden of Beginnings, but was cornered by his superiors near a blooming lily. In an act of cowardice he attempted to use the flower to shield the Beam of Damnation, but sadly it was in vain because right then, Ciel emerged from the pure white petals and feathers; all the while as the beam bounced off every single feather and hit both Don and Ciel. Seeing the ground begin to crack underneath her before she awoke, Don grabbed onto her and held her close as his angelic form was painfully replaced with a demonic one as they fell to the mortal realm. Guilt-ridden and hateful towards himself due to destroying both his community and Ciel's future of bliss, Don vowed to always take care of Ciel and to hide away from everyone as repentance for his cowardice. In this quiet and slightly mitigating life with Ciel though... one of Don's former subordinates never forgot his actions and came to the mortal realm and is seeking the demon- in order to exterminate him.
