Welcome to my MAG review page! Here, I'll share/review some of my favorite series/interesting highlights
I've seen over the years. Most of my favorites are Iyashikei adjacent or shorter, so be mindful in case
you prefer other types of series ^^; Sadly, a lot of my earlier reviews aren't
very informative, so I will be rewriting them soon!
Funny little guy you run around in your dreams and collect effects. Half of them are really hard to find so I never actually finished the game BUT!!! the environments are silly :-]
SCORE: 8/10 only because it does get confusing without a guide, plus some events are sometimes really hard to get
Adelta my beloved :] Seriously though PLAY HASHIHIME! The characters are really good, the art style is really nice, and it generally has a great story and aesthetic. Some routes aren't that great though due to the subject matter, but even then they're still really good. Definetly check this visual novel out if you're into Mystery, or even just play the first route since that's arguably the best route (although not the true route apparently).
A small tip though: As it is a BL, there's an H scene contained in every route, but it's not the complete focus of the novel and are easily skippable. Append/Noma is the censored version/rereleased version with extra content and is more widely available on handheld consoles like the PS Vita or Nintendo Switch, So I recommend that version over the original solely for the extra stories and other goodies.
SCORE: 9.5/10 If you're not very interested in the BL genre, Hashihime still offers a really great story with good characterization. The Minakami route is probably the best one, so it's recommended that you at least play that one to get a taste.
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
SCORE: 10/10 I really like this game! I'm glad Yana Toboso made the character designs since everyone's so aesthetically pleasing and detailed. In the actual gameplay, you get an assortment of mini games along with the main story, such as battles, card collection, and rhythm games. Like I said about the characters, everyone is diverse so anyone who plays will have a character they really like! I recommend it for anyone who enjoys gacha games, although early on collecting currency is a bit tough ^^;
While I haven't played this yet, I did watch a playthrough though and it looks so cool and interesting!! I recently found out about it by chance and I really love its animation and character designs, which I'm surprised at because I mostly enjoy cuter anime things over cartoony western art styles. I would honestly play this, but only for the animations and story since like everyone else, I think the puzzles look really difficult (coming from a person who hates puzzle games). Overall, I think it's a really silly game (especially Willie Trombone the little scrunko), it just lacks in the puzzle aspect. It's a shame that it's spiritual successor Armikrog kind of sucked since it looks so cool.
SCORE: 7/10 The puzzles are really dumb BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS SO SILLY please play this game if you have the chance and/or enjoy difficult puzzles.
Silly little club that's NOT a cult. It has a poggers art style but gets MEGA gory so if you're a weakling maybe don't read it!! jk a lot of parts are really OTT so I don't mind if you skip this one (plus it's hard to find English copies I THINK) amd there's nsfw in the first gah damn chapter I quite literally forgot about because the last time I read this was about two years ago so yeah I dont really recommend it ;;
SCORE: 6/10 because dentaku smells sour like funky and the nsfw
I saw it on a review website recently and I thought "wow that's a cool artstyle what silly horror shall I witness today" only to realize it's pretty gross (to me anyways). I really want to be nice but this was kind of a disappointment for me. Read it if your curious but the first chapters are REALLY hard to get through because... ew. I heard the creators are actually really good at what they do though, so while I didn't enjoy it, I'll still recommend it if you're into gruesome and disgusting (in the best way) horror stories.
Score: 4/10 The art is nice :] it reminds me of some art deco lolita styles but the story was too much for me sadly (coming from a shoujo/iyashiei fan of all people)
This manga made me more hungry than when I don't eat for two days. EVERYTHING IN THIS MANGA LOOKED SO YUMMY I BEGGED MY MOM TO GET TEMPURA UDON WHEN I FINISHED IT. Iinuma is really cute also :] his fangs are so cute and I like when he's shy in certain situations. The faces he makes when he eats are kinda sussy but he enjoys it!! I highly recommend this if you liked "Wakakozake" and "What Did You Eat Yesterday?"
Score: 10/10 The covers look like it's a nsfw work BUT ITS NOT HE JUST LIKES FOOD AND IS SOCIALLY AWKWARD >:[
God, I really love food and cooking manga you don't even know. Even though this story was really short, everyone was really cute and I thought the art style was adorable :D It was great seeing how all the characters going throughout their school lives with cooking and learning to make sweets. I recommend it for people who want something short to pass the time with or people who prefer short-form stories (like me :D)
This manga is actually an anthology of stories all revolved around the same thing; they're not normal. It's a very interesting world to see inside of this book indeed, and while it's quite short, it still offers a good experience with themes to think about. The manga is in the genre of "denpa,' which I guess means it shows normal life, but the bad aspects/delusions? I'm not sure, but the art style and characters are really nice. From an old dad who likes dolls, to a married couple living in a controlled environment, Boku wa Mondai Arimasen brings a short, yet thoughtful experience with this sort of genre, even if it isn't normal.
SCORE: 6/10 The art style and subject matter could turn people away, but those who stay will be entranced by its storytelling and wish for more.
Lizard Prince is a relatively unknown shoujo manga in which a princess falls in love with a prince who randomly turns into a lizard due to a curse. It's a pretty standard story, with common tropes found in shoujo, but its characters are the main focus why I like it so much. The two leads are actually a role swap, with the prince being soft and shy, and the princess being strong and determined. Obviously I really like the prince, and whenever he turns into a lizard he gets 10x cuter haha.
SCORE: 7/10 It's very standard, but the events with the prince's lizard form and role-swap will make you read with a smile :D

As soon as I first saw art and merchandise of Tsuritama years ago, I knew I would fall in love with it! Tsuritama has really become one of my favorite series I've ever seen, and time and time again its colorful atmosphere and characters brings me back for rewatches. The anime offers a light and comedic storyline that along with fishing, teaches the viewer about the budding friendship of Yuki, an anxious human, and Haru, an energetic alien. From learning how to fish to save the world, to experiencing Enoshima's culture, Tsuritama is indeed a colorful summertime treat that I can't recommend enough!
SCORE: 9.5/10
Set in a sugary-sweet version of hell, As Miss Beelzebub Likes is at the very least a dessert for the viewer! Even just looking at it you can tell it's utterly sweet from its art and coloring. As the anime is an iyashikei, the plot revolves around the daily lives of Beelzebub, Mullin, and their friends in Pandemonium, so the show is quite slow... For anyone looking for a dessert for the eyes however, please check out this fluffy and cozy show!
SCORE: 8/10
Ah! Lucky Star is a staple in the anime community, especially if you're an older fan! I doubt anyone here hasn't seen it yet, but if you haven't Lucky Star offers a slow-paced, but feel-good vibe combined with it's moe characters and stories. If you're a fan of a certain other light novel that was popular at the time, you'll be happy to see all of the references to it in Lucky Star.
SCORE: 7.5/10
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, put simply... is the perfect anime for me! I can't get enough of anything this anime offers, from it's experimental animation style thanks to SHAFT and Kumeta Koji, to it's humor and characters and even music! I can't describe how in love with this anime I am. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is honestly my favorite anime I've ever come across, and it's amplified by the anime's Taisho-esque art style! I can't stress enough how much I recommend watching this if you're a fan of dark or interesting styles.
SCORE: 10/10
While it can be a bit of a hard watch due to it's mind-screw/psychological genre, Serial Experiments Lain is an anime that really makes you think. It's interestering how this anime made in 1998 can capture how much the internet can influence people's actions/thoughts, even if the ideas of the future internet are different, it's a bit eerie how close some ideas have come about 26 years later. I really enjoy how late 90's-early 2000's Sci-Fi and cyberpunk media looks (Think JSRF or GITS), so for anyone who wants a deep dark and confusing story, Lain is for you! Remember, no matter where you go, everyone's connected.
SCORE: 8/10
Even though Mononoke is a spin-off of Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales, the anime is a mesmerizing show about the Medicine Seller investigating ayakashi in a world reminiscent of an art-deco painting. I remember seeing it long ago, and I was immediately pulled in by the show's busy and flat style. As I've mentioned a lot of times, I'm a huge fan of anime with interesting styles, and Mononoke is no different! There's always something beautiful to look at along with how interesting the ayakashi and characters surrounding them. From Zashiki-warashi to Noppera-bou, Nue to Bakeneko (a call-back to ASHT), Mononoke is an anime you can't miss if you're a fan of historical fiction and folktales.
Score: 9/10
Alien 9 is a lesser-known OVA series about a trio of sixth graders fighting agaiinst aliens in their school. While short and unassuming, Alien 9 is actually quite the psychological adventure despite it's innocent facade. For anyone who was a fan of Serial Experiments Lain, I recommend watching this OVA or reading the manga for a short, but still enjoyable experience.
SCORE: 7/10
A severely underrated anime about an angel girl falling in love with and "messing up" a high school boy's life ^^; It's a bit unassuming due to the basic storyline and how Yuusuke is treated in the earlier episodes, but the anime makes up for it with it's adorable visuals! Everything is so brightly colored and sweet-tasting...almost a bit like fruit candy with a slightly nostalgic taste ^^ Because it was animated by Pierrot also, it's reminiscent of all the magical girl series of the time, especially with how darling Noelle is! Overall, Tenshi ni Narumon is a sweet and light-hearted romcom that I think is best enjoyed with friends or accompanied by any desserts :D
SCORE: 6.5/10
I'm honestly a bit embarrased sharing this, but I'm actually a bit of a fan of Hetalia! Its short-form style, combined with its comedy and characters really left me coming back again and again to watch it! I'm happy that it's also helped me with history tests, even if in Hetalia events are a bit exaggerated ^^; Honestly Hetalia brings a smile to my face no matter how many times I watch it, and the dub multiplies that joy due to the more meta humor westerners like me can understand ^^; Please check it out if you haven't! And if you do remember Hetalia from your youth, maybe give it another chance? It's still really funny :] (in my opinion, at least.)
